Many Will Give Thanks
A great friend and reader of this blog shared some shocking news with me this morning: her mom has been diagnosed with an advanced form of bone cancer.
In junior high, this woman was "mom away from mom" to all her daughter's friends, uncomplainingly driving us to Taco Bell every Thursday afternoon. She helped teach me and hundreds of others to love music - really grab hold of a patriotic hymn and adore it - through directing youth choirs over the last twenty or so years. She launches church outreach programs, bakes mouthwatering lasagna, and tirelessly serves everyone she can.
I hate cancer.
Please pray with me she beats the illness, upheaval, fear, and pain of this beast.
